Bajaj Finserv is hiring for the role of National Lead – Legal Department for their office in Pune.

Leading the Consumer Lending Legal Team, which provides assistance and support on legal aspects to Consumer, Retail, SME and FD business of the Company and its group companies and supporting the organization’s business objectives by providing appropriate advise on varied legal aspects and documentation.

Job Responsibilities

• Guide, nurture and challenge people and teams to deliver high performance.
• Timely and periodic reviews to review the work of the team members and monitor the work progress. Continuous engagement with team members and preventing attrition of the team.
• Structure, draft, review, negotiate and advise internally and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of agreements viz. Collaboration Agreements, Interest Subvention Agreements, Service Provider Agreements, Outsourcing Agreements, Marketing Agreements, Employment Agreements, NDA etc.
• Identify and advise on legal risks in connection with the development of new products.
• Review, structure and draft customer journey and product-specific documentation including digital lending documentation.
• Develop and maintain standard forms of agreements/documents.
• Research and analyze legal and regulatory developments to assess their impact on the product and services offered by BFL and ensure the same are forming part of the dissemination of various stakeholders by way of Legal notes, journals etc and aligning the product documents in line with regulatory/statutory changes.
• Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal issues relating to products/teams viz – SALPL, PLCS, Business & Prof Loan – Secured & Unsecured, Used Auto Car Loan, Gold Loan, CD Loan, Dealer Facility – TA/RF/ACR, E-Commerce, EMI Card Portfolio, REMI Portfolio, Life Style Finance(LSF), Life Care Finance(LCF), Digital Product Finance (DPF), Wealth – FD, Insurance & Mutual Funds, Loan Against FD & Corporate Deposit, Wallets, Credit Card, Marketing & ARU, HR, NSB, BFDL/BFL Marketplace
• Liaise with external law firms, wherever required to ensure specialized advice.

Qualifications & Experiences

• Should have a Bachelor of Laws(LLB) degree.
• a Masters in Law(LLM) with specialization in corporate/contract laws is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the BFSI sector.
• Should have leadership qualities and should be able to lead the team.
• Diverse experience in dealing with various legal issues including experience in commercial and consumer retail banking and financing transactions.
• Experience in Banking/NBFC/FinTech industry and in handling litigation to be given preference.
• Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Must be conversant with Banking laws, practice and regulatory guidelines relating to the BFSI industry.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Existing proficiency in Microsoft Office software products including Internet, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
