Supreme Court Bench Expresses Concerns Over Lengthy Petitions Filed by Advocates

In a recent development, the Supreme Court bench, led by Justice Bela M Trivedi and Justice BR Gavai, has raised concerns over the unnecessarily lengthy cases filed by Advocates on record in Supreme Court. The bench emphasized the need for responsible and accountable behavior in legal practice.

During the hearing, the bench noted that Advocates tend to file needlessly long and complex cases, which could be easily and precisely dealt with, saving time for the court and the parties involved. The bench stated that a 2,000-page document is filed when only 200 pages are required. Such practices lead to wastage of valuable time and resources, which could otherwise be utilized for resolving other pending cases.

The bench further criticized the lack of accountability for filing meritless cases and emphasized that advocates must be responsible for what they file. The bench also highlighted the importance of caution when making derogatory remarks against the court or any judge, especially while alleging bias or vindictiveness. Such allegations can damage the reputation of the court and lead to serious consequences.

The Supreme Court bench has called for more responsible and respectful conduct by advocates to maintain the integrity and impartiality of the judicial system. The court's remarks serve as a reminder of the need for precision and clarity in legal cases, which can save valuable time for all parties involved. It is essential that advocates prioritize these factors and exercise caution and restraint while making any allegations against the court or any judge.

In conclusion, the Supreme Court bench's concerns over the lengthy cases filed by advocates serve as a wake-up call for legal professionals to adopt responsible and accountable behavior. Such behavior is crucial in ensuring the fair and equitable administration of justice and upholding the integrity of the judicial system.
